The South Shore stretch of the Lake Links Trail had a special moment in the sun June 21 as it hosted the first-ever Manitou Days 5K, sponsored by MMRaces and Admiral D's. Runners of all ages joined the fun as they ran, jogged, trotted, and occasionally walked the course from Lions Park to the end of South Shore Boulevard and back again. Congratulations to all!

If you're a woman who walks – or would like to – Mahtomedi Community Education has a great opportunity for you. On Thursday mornings at 9 am, a group led by community member Sarah Newman gathers in the Mahtomedi District Education Center parking lot for an hour (or so) hike along the Wolgamot Way section of the Lake Links Trail as well as through some of the quieter streets in the surrounding neighborhoods. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome, as are well-behaved dogs on leashes....
