Highway 96 Open House: input needed Sept 24

Ian Harding

ree

Washington and Ramsey counties will be holding an open house Wednesday, September 24, 2025, 4–6 p.m. at Mahtomedi High School, 8000 75th St N in Grant.

They are leading a corridor study for the 10+ mile segment of Highway 96 between Highway 61 in White Bear Lake and Highway 95 in Stillwater. The purpose of this study is

to better understand existing conditions and corridor needs to help develop

a long-term plan for improvements that has stakeholder and public support. Among the possible improvements are a shared-use trail from Ramsey County Beach to the Gateway Trail (including the Lake Links Trail along the north side of White Bear Lake).

With busy traffic, narrow shoulders, numerous curves, multiple junctions, and lack of pedestrian crossings, this highway does not serve the community well. Please try to attend and provide your input to make it a safer route for all and to get the already funded Lake Links segment done!

For more information, see Highway 96 Corridor Study.

You can also comment online September 24–October 8 if you can't make it in person on September 24.

PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR INPUT! Future generations will be grateful.
